MEETING BOARD OF ASSESSMENT APPEALS
Saturday, January 20, 2007
8:30 A.M.

Mr. Lenegan called the meeting to order at 8:45 a.m. at the East Windsor Town Hall, 11 Rye Street, Broad Brook.  

ATTENDANCE:     James Lenegan, Chairman, Marilyn Butenkoff, and Elaine Stevens


PREVIOUS MINUTES

        Cynthia Croxford, Recording Secretary, presented the September 6, 2006 minutes to the Board.

MOTION: To accept the September 6, 2006 minutes as submitted.
                Made by Ms. Butenkoff, seconded by Ms. Stevens.
ALL MEMBERS IN FAVOR. MOTION CARRIED.

2.      Set schedule of hearings for appeals regarding the October 1, 2006 Grand List (Real Estate, Personal Property and Motor Vehicle) and the October 1, 2005 Motor Vehicle Supplemental List.


The Board will meet on March 20, to review and process the applications received. By consensus the Board agreed to the following schedule for hearings and decision making in April:
        
April 9, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. at the East Windsor Town Hall;
April 10, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. at the East Windsor Town Hall;
April 12, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. at the East Windsor Town Hall;
April 14, 2007 at 8:30 a.m. at the East Windsor Town Hall;
April 16, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. at the East Windsor Town Hall;
April 19, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. at the East Windsor Town Hall;

The legal notice will be published in the Journal Inquirer on February 16, 2007.

Also, for the Board’s information, Ms. Madore advised that an auditor has been hired to audit 38 personal property accounts.


3.      Discuss and approve Appeal Application Form for the October 1, 2006 Grand List (Real Estate, Personal Property and Motor Vehicle) and the October 1, 2005 Motor Vehicle Supplemental List.

Ms. Madore presented last year’s form. The Board requested some minor edits and Ms. Madore will make those changes as discussed.

4.      ADJOURNMENT

MOTION: To adjourn at 9:10 a.m.
                Made by Ms. Stevens, seconded by Ms. Butenkoff
ALL MEMBERS IN FAVOR.  MOTION CARRIED.
